What's the point in females participating in beauty pageants?

Now why can't they have male pageants? What's the point in females participating in beauty pageants?
Weeell, I suppose they could, but they would only be popular with women. The people that sponsor women's beauty pageants, know that both sexes watch them. That sells their products. What's the point in females participating in beauty pageants?
They enjoy it, otherwise they wouldnt do it, and there have always been are male pageants. Body building competitions, Olympics, there are alternative/gay pageants, most eligible bachelor etc

There are male pageants.

and as Kris has pointed out, its market driven.
Capitalism, women don't want to watch a male pageant and women who would want to watch a male pageant wouldn't want to watch women who want to ruin the pageant for the male participants.

If more women wanted it, it would exist. Supply and demand.
It's something to spend 1 on 1 mommy/daughter time. Dress up like a princess and wear beautiful costumes. Some women take it too far, but it's just supposed to be fun.
I hate beauty pageants, especially the little girl ones they are really sick. beauty pageants have no purpose in life.
Why would you be whining about there being female beauty pageants but then be all for the male pageants? Let people do what they want as long as they're not hurting anyone and shut up about it.
Beats the heck out of me. Though there is prize money involved. They do have male pageants as well, Mr. Universe and so forth. They're bodybuilding I think.
So their fat and unattractive mothers can get some self-esteem knowing they gave birth to a crown-wearing mannequin doll.

they are called bodybuilding competitions
Basically, some women feel they're so beautiful that she needs to share it with the world.
Chippendale dancers, lol.
Tad jealous? I'd love to see a male pageant :D ';And next is the swimsuit round'; ;)
