The difference between beauty sleep and sleep is very simple honey !! Beauty sleep is what we generally call a quality amount of sleep that every person needs daily to stay healthy and therefore look healthy. To look healthy is to look beautiful and the phrase refers to females mainly....becoz we are the beautiful sex. Sleep is just sleep, it could be even a 4 hours sleep...which isnt very healthy (well, depending on a person, eg. some ppl need only 6-7 hrs to stay healthy and feel good whereas others need at least 8). Beauty sleep is a beauty rest we take that is extra because we are tired and sluggish even after our usual sleep! We are cranky and out of sorts as a result of overextending ourselves with lack of rest due to work, illness causing insomnia, party time too long for some, staying awake far too many hours with only a few hours of out time for sleep in between, etc. We can see it's side
effects and feel them and they can only be corrected by Beauty Sleep which is quiet different and does not have to be voluntary as our bodies will naturally just shut down and rest and we sleep through what we had planned before we know it but feel freshened when we waken!
Another form of beauty sleep is just lying down to slumber so we
can get ready for what so ever is the next event that we had no plans for and because it is good to be well rested.
Now sleep is just because I know I have to as I have to go to work or school and is usually planned and or scheduled and is not as satisfying to most as Beauty Sleep!
