Can you make much money opening your own beauty salon?

I am doing a diploma in beauty therapy and want to open my own salon next year offering classic beauty treatments as well as holistic therapies. Is it hard to succeed or does it really depend on where you are and your business acumen? Can you make much money opening your own beauty salon?
Its very competitive market. But if you work hard its worth itCan you make much money opening your own beauty salon?
There's salons on every street; you will have a lot of competition. As with any business, you can make good money; but it is not easy and you will need money to start and run it in the first place. You'll need to show banks how you intend to beat the competition, to make your own niche separately from all the other people in your class and the ones already out there, to get loans enough to start.
If its popular and well-appraised, yes. You can draw people in by doing things different..making it a place they want to go to by offering drinks like lemonade in the summer and cocoa, coffee, and tea during cooler times..and also have coupons and deals, try to sell beauty products in the store, and overall get a designer to help with the look of the place. that is really important. the difference between people wanting to stop there or not. fun chic is a timeless look, which is bright colors mixed with clears, silvers, ect.
Business is Business, alot has to do with location and quality of your product, you get back as much as you you put in, anyone can make it or break it with a little or alot of good/bad luck. your working with skills so remember, if you or staff cannot cut/perm/etc... the way people like there hair done then they might not come back.,

think of a plan and be ready to have it be really slow for your first year. keep in mind that its a recession and people are not spending on things like they use to.

good luck
You might want to consider mobile beauty therapy with competitive prices. There is often a demand for these.
its okay...
